Real Unión CF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Academia the free kick. In the 11th minute, Joaquim Valdueza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robby Woody in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilfredo Heli saved Real Unión CF from getting behind. In the 14th match minute, Real Unión CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marz Pedros to maneuver through the defense. Dasep Arkananta kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Robby Woody might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilfredo Heli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robby Woody ran back to his position shaking his head. Wilfredo Heli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robby Woody in the 16th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Real Unión CF's Marz Pedros got a free kick in the 17th minute. The audience was convinced that Robby Woody's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilfredo Heli was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. La Academia's Eric Sillén was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wilfredo Heli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marz Pedros in the 21st minute of play forced La Academia's goalkeeper Iwan Grocholski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Liu Cheng Kang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Iwan Grocholski made a huge save. Wilfredo Heli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gong Peng Bo, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Real Unión CF's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Alberto Zañartu came free, but Wilfredo Heli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maxín Bacarreza was slow to take the kick. During this time La Academia's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to La Academia's Francisco Alberto Zañartu getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After 39 minutes La Academia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cebo Segura who took care of the corner kick. 43 minutes into the match, Real Unión CF's goal looked a bit too open when Robby Woody came free, but Wilfredo Heli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 44 played minutes La Academia got a freekick which was hit by Gong Peng Bo. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Real Unión CF's Wilfredo Heli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robby Woody in the 57th minute of play. Cebo Segura got his second yellow card in the match during the 59th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In a very dangerous position, a player in Real Unión CF fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Wilfredo Heli, was totally fooled by La Academia's Robby Woody, who 61 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 65 minutes into the match, Real Unión CF's goal looked a bit too open when Robby Woody came free, but Wilfredo Heli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilfredo Heli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robby Woody, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. When La Academia's Robby Woody in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Karl-Magnus Torsberg replaced Sandalio Urquiaga. In the 78th minute Leonardo Isadore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Grocholski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th match minute, La Academia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robby Woody to maneuver through the defense. Wilfredo Heli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robby Woody in the 94th minute of the match. Iwan Grocholski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Isadore, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The La Academia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing La Academia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
