Julio-César van Beek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pearse McWilliam in the 15th minute of the match. Christiano Ronaldo struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Brigid Rutherford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Altza Herria. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christiano Ronaldo in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brigid Rutherford saved St. James Gate F.C. from getting behind. St. James Gate F.C.'s Brigid Rutherford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christiano Ronaldo in the 24th minute of play. In the 27th minute Barhart Costello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio-César van Beek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Altza Herria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Saavedra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, St. James Gate F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Christiano Ronaldo came free, but Brigid Rutherford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Medero Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Altza Herria made a substitution. Julio-César van Beek came out of the goal and Barhart Costello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brigid Rutherford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christiano Ronaldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the match, Christiano Ronaldo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brigid Rutherford. St. James Gate F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christiano Ronaldo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Altza Herria walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
