With a couple of smart ball manuevers Silverio Tuste in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Casper Jans saved Racing Matinette from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Alan Creemers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Serafino Jurdan was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. In the 8th minute Racing Matinette were awarded a corner. Qu Hong Liang went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Alan Creemers got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Serafino Jurdan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Silverio Tuste blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Casper Jans having to make a save. In the 11th minute Silverio Tuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Jans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 played minutes Racing Matinette got a freekick which was hit by Jens Verheecke. If Cristian Blanco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serafino Jurdan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Creemers, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th match minute, Newells Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Blanco to maneuver through the defense. After 17 played minutes Racing Matinette got a freekick which was hit by Jens Verheecke. Casper Jans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Tuste, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute of the match Newells Old Boys got a corner. Racing Matinette's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Elias Medeiros ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Elias Medeiros almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Racing Matinette's Casper Jans did a great save. Silverio Tuste blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Casper Jans having to make a save. In the 29th minute Silverio Tuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Jans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silverio Tuste in the 37th minute of play forced Racing Matinette's goalkeeper Casper Jans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Serafino Jurdan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Serafino Jurdan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Creemers in the 41st minute of the match. Cristian Blanco hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Newells Old Boys's Silverio Tuste got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

With a little luck, Racing Matinette's Casper Jans got control of the ball when Cristian Blanco tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Cristian Blanco got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-1. 54 minutes into the match. If Alan Creemers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silverio Tuste's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Casper Jans read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alonzo Peruxu in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serafino Jurdan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Silverio Tuste sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Casper Jans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Tuste, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silverio Tuste in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Jans prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Silverio Tuste put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Casper Jans. Newells Old Boys's Joaquin Jerrald was substituted for Cesar Cordairo. Serafino Jurdan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alonzo Peruxu's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silverio Tuste got free with Casper Jans in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alonzo Peruxu took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Serafino Jurdan. Serafino Jurdan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Newells Old Boys were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Racing Matinette's much stronger midfield.
