In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind ROJO's goalkeeper Aldo Kaxen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aldo Kaxen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvério Pinheiro in the 35th minute. In the 36th match minute, ROJO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Raymond to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Aníbal Moura from long distance, 37 minutes into the match, got Aldo Kaxen's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With his leg Aldo Kaxen managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when GRÊMIO's Luiz Gustavo Mazza fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luiz Gustavo Mazza in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aldo Kaxen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Luiz Gustavo Mazza made in the 41st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by ROJO's Clemente Panpili. In the 43rd minute, Samuel Benet made a precise shot to the right of Sergio Goicoechea. GRÊMIO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.

ROJO made a substitution. Angélico Cavaco replaced Clemente Panpili. The wind increased when 史挺南 made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tymoteusz Byczewski got free with Sergio Goicoechea in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner led GRÊMIO's Aníbal Moura to fire away a dangerous shot which Aldo Kaxen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. GRÊMIO fully deserved thier win.
