If Kaká Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nicanor Ascencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Montrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The audience was convinced that Kaká Moraes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicanor Ascencio was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. A collision led to Valencia Santa Fe getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Kaká Moraes hit a great ball. 40 minutes into the match, Valencia Santa Fe's goalkeeper Jeronimo Dantel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aristides Lluc. After 43 played minutes El Pulpo Paceño got a freekick which was hit by Tirso Abajas. After a defensive mix-up in Valencia Santa Fe's zone, Aristides Lluc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeronimo Dantel came out of the goal and Aristides Lluc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 47 minutes into the match, El Pulpo Paceño's goal looked a bit too open when Kaká Moraes came free, but Nicanor Ascencio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The wind increased when Arnoldo Montrell made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Aristides Lluc had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jeronimo Dantel. Valencia Santa Fe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aristides Lluc was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Aristides Lluc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Valencia Santa Fe's goal looked a bit too open when Aristides Lluc came free, but Jeronimo Dantel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kamil Glik's late challenge caught a Valencia Santa Fe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kamil Glik helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd minute, one of El Pulpo Paceño:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for El Pulpo Paceño. Felipe Inocente shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Nicanor Ascencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Montrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnoldo Montrell in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicanor Ascencio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joseph Lockwood's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jeronimo Dantel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Mao Sheng Ting kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. El Pulpo Paceño's Nicanor Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnoldo Montrell in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Pulpo Paceño's goalkeeper Nicanor Ascencio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Valencia Santa Fe's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
