Jacek Walczak came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Baldomero Suarez could save by the left post. After 21 minutes Lanús's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was David Talamanca who took care of the corner kick. The corner led OROTINENSE's David Talamanca to fire away a dangerous shot which Baldomero Suarez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Lanús's Augusto Oliviero in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye OROTINENSE's goalie prevented a goal. With 43 minutes on the clock, Diego Palma commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of OROTINENSE:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lanús:s goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Songurhan Mete made a kick off. Liu Yong Yong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Oliviero in the 54th minute of play. Lanús's Esteve Herrera managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Parvan Hadzhipetkov in the 62 minute of the game. Augusto Oliviero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Oliviero in the 64th minute of play forced OROTINENSE's goalkeeper Liu Yong Yong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Augusto Oliviero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lanús's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Oliviero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Liu Yong Yong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Augusto Oliviero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Liu Yong Yong having to make a save. Liu Yong Yong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Oliviero, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 71stth minute of the game Augusto Oliviero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but OROTINENSE's Liu Yong Yong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind OROTINENSE's goalkeeper Liu Yong Yong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Liu Yong Yong was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Augusto Oliviero capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Augusto Oliviero really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. After some careless play in the OROTINENSE defense, Augusto Oliviero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Liu Yong Yong. The OROTINENSE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Liu Yong Yong should have stopped the shot. In the 80th minute Minor Talamanca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Suarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liu Yong Yong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Oliviero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lanús made a substitution. Eloy Gaskon replaced Augusto Oliviero. A collision led to OROTINENSE getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Parvan Hadzhipetkov hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Gaskon in the 89th minute of play forced OROTINENSE's goalkeeper Liu Yong Yong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. OROTINENSE's Liu Yong Yong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Gaskon in the 92nd minute of play. Minor Talamanca struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Baldomero Suarez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for OROTINENSE.
