The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Ernani Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kajetan Wolniewicz in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kjell-Arne Hultman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. MAFFIAN's Kjell-Arne Hultman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathias Freire in the 7th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jean-Claude Van Damme got free with Duda Berger in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 16 minutes into the match, MAFFIAN's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Freire came free, but Kjell-Arne Hultman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Mathias Freire made a precise shot to the right of Kjell-Arne Hultman. MAFFIAN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 22 minutes into the game, Mathias Freire cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Kjell-Arne Hultman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kjell-Arne Hultman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias Freire in the 26th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Aston Villa F.C's Diogo Calado got a free kick in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kajetan Wolniewicz in the 31st minute of play forced MAFFIAN's goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Hultman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Aston Villa F.C's corner Mário Corrêa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kjell-Arne Hultman quite easily take care of the ball. In the 34th minute Mathias Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kjell-Arne Hultman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Aston Villa F.C's Kajetan Wolniewicz in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jean-Claude Van Damme to make the kick off. Duda Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvar Kollberg in the 51st minute of play. A collision led to MAFFIAN getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Jean-Claude Van Damme hit a great ball. MAFFIAN's Jörn Gustafsson was substituted for Jim Nilsson. If Diogo Calado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Diogo Calado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aston Villa F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. 65 minutes into the game, Aston Villa F.C's Mathias Freire nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kjell-Arne Hultman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. MAFFIAN's Kjell-Arne Hultman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save MAFFIAN from getting a goal against them. 69 minutes into the match, MAFFIAN's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Freire came free, but Kjell-Arne Hultman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kajetan Wolniewicz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Kjell-Arne Hultman when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 71 minutes, Michael Klack mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MAFFIAN and the Aston Villa F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 71 played minutes MAFFIAN got a freekick which was hit by Michael Klack. With his leg Kjell-Arne Hultman managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Aston Villa F.C's Kajetan Wolniewicz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Michael Klack was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 78 minutes had been played. In the 82nd minute, Aston Villa F.C's Mathias Freire ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kjell-Arne Hultman. Kjell-Arne Hultman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. 85 minutes into the match, MAFFIAN's goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Hultman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mathias Freire. Mário Corrêa made a great header on Aston Villa F.C's corner, it was just that MAFFIAN's Kjell-Arne Hultman managed to reach the ball for a save. Kjell-Arne Hultman made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Kajetan Wolniewicz sent off a good shot on target. Kjell-Arne Hultman was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Kajetan Wolniewicz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kajetan Wolniewicz really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. Mathias Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kjell-Arne Hultman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Aston Villa F.C's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
