After a defensive mix-up in Karen FC's zone, Leo Pietro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ma Yong Jun came out of the goal and Leo Pietro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Freestylers's Yuan Lei Jing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arvin Svanberg in the 13th minute of play. After some careless play in the Karen FC defense, Leo Pietro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ma Yong Jun. The Karen FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ma Yong Jun should have stopped the shot. Yuan Lei Jing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arvin Svanberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 25th minute, Arvin Svanberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yuan Lei Jing was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After a rather tough play, Karen FC's Rolando Estevez got a free kick in the 27th minute. Yuan Lei Jing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Tscherner in the 29th minute of play. Karen FC's Ma Yong Jun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Pietro in the 33rd minute of play. In the 38th minute of the match, Mathias Abstreiter tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ma Yong Jun saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ma Yong Jun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias Abstreiter, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Leo Pietros short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Ma Yong Jun to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mathias Abstreiter hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 55 minutes into the match, Karen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Björn Lachenicht came free, but Ma Yong Jun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yuan Lei Jing stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgar Tscherner's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Ma Yong Jun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Musa Bardakçı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Leo Pietro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ma Yong Jun was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Rickard Lövkvist's late challenge caught a Freestylers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
