Marcus Hedström started the match with the kick off. Tobias Ekeberg's late challenge caught a De Pelgrims's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tobias Ekeberg helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, IKS Norrköping's Tobias Ekeberg got a free kick in the 4th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Perivaldo Eger got free with Emanuel Sigfridsson in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mike Zoetmulder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Hedström in the 7th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, IKS Norrköping's Sverker Skröder got a free kick in the 8th minute. Mike Zoetmulder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Hedström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perivaldo Eger in the 11th minute of play forced IKS Norrköping's goalkeeper Emanuel Sigfridsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Mathias de Ruijter notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of IKS Norrköping's Emanuel Sigfridsson. Emanuel Sigfridsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to De Pelgrims getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Mathias de Ruijter hit a great ball. With a little luck, IKS Norrköping's Emanuel Sigfridsson got control of the ball when Perivaldo Eger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emanuel Sigfridsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huub Gerrits in the 21st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mathias de Ruijter during the 22nd minute. After a rather tough play, De Pelgrims's Jan-Peter Kloppenburg got a free kick in the 29th minute. Mike Zoetmulder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Hedström in the 36th minute of play. Mike Zoetmulder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Dahlman, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huub Gerrits in the 43rd minute of play forced IKS Norrköping's goalkeeper Emanuel Sigfridsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Perivaldo Eger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, IKS Norrköping's Mike Zoetmulder threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tobias Ekeberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mike Zoetmulder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Ekeberg in the 54th minute of the match. Marcus Hedström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Mike Zoetmulder made a huge save. Marcus Hedström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike Zoetmulder having to interfere. Emanuel Sigfridsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perivaldo Eger in the 60th minute of the match. Emanuel Sigfridsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perivaldo Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the IKS Norrköping defense, Mathias de Ruijter kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emanuel Sigfridsson. The IKS Norrköping fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emanuel Sigfridsson should have stopped the shot. IKS Norrköping's Lars Sörman was substituted for Tobias Ekeberg. Huub Gerrits hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Huub Gerrits got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mike Zoetmulder came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by IKS Norrköping's Lars Sörman. But to his dismay, Lars Sörman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 96th minute of the match De Pelgrims got a corner. IKS Norrköping's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fu Peng Feng ran over to the corner to take the kick.
