The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With 6 minutes on the clock, Nói Ado commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. ADM Taquaras's Jeremias Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Sol in the 14th minute of play. Gabriel Urtats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Tepedino in the 15th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Denílson Tepedino notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats. Gabriel Urtats was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jeremias Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustin Abaunza in the 23rd minute of play. Denílson Tepedino scored 0-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gabriel Urtats, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 30th minute, Cesar Quinto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gabriel Urtats was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 33rd minute Cesar Quinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Urtats saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabriel Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesar Quinto in the 36th minute of the match. Denílson Tepedino scored 0-4 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gabriel Urtats, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gabriel Urtats showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denílson Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 45 minutes into the game, when Mikail Jackson put in a rough tackle. In the 46th minute, Mikail Jackson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Areco FC booed when ADM Taquaras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikail Jackson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

ADM Taquaras's Jeremias Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Igor Cristofor in the 53rd minute of play. Agustin Abaunza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gabriel Urtats made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cesar Quinto in the 79th minute. In the 82nd minute of the match, Denílson Tepedino tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gabriel Urtats saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by Areco FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Malcolm Westerberg was slow to take the kick. During this time ADM Taquaras's players had a chance to rest. The corner led ADM Taquaras's Leonard Åhman to a score. 0-5 in the 91st minute.
