The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Turgay Şeren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Oterino in the 4th minute of play. Golden Generation's Turgay Şeren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Oterino in the 11th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Huang Rong in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tartalo Delatorre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Tartalo Delatorre managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Golden Generation's Huang Rong fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tartalo Delatorre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Enoaia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Golden Generation were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Atlético Grau Piura's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ulises Dimas took the corner. In the 19th minute Alex Enoaia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tartalo Delatorre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th match minute, Golden Generation was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elpidio Intxixu to maneuver through the defense. Federico Moura, 21 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
