Sajones F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Isaias Sazon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iurie Chiriacescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baturhan Oytun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Pastor Frantzes made a huge save. Sajones F.C.'s Pastor Frantzes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guga Trancoso in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaias Sazon in the 47th minute of play forced PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Iurie Chiriacescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

PIAUÍ FC were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Sajones F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Renato Sá took the corner. The corner led to PIAUÍ FC's Víktor Santos getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 55 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Iurie Chiriacescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Isaias Sazon. 57 minutes into the match, Sajones F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Baturhan Oytun came free, but Pastor Frantzes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
