Marcus Deacon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lorenzo Bourgeat dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Lorenzo Bourgeat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Idacio Ballejos in the 37th minute of play. Thierry Auroy might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcus Deacon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thierry Auroy ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 45th minute, Idacio Ballejos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lorenzo Bourgeat was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thierry Auroy made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Mayo's Idacio Ballejos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lorenzo Bourgeat narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lorenzo Bourgeat didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Idacio Ballejos went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. Breizh Punishers's Lorenzo Bourgeat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Idacio Ballejos in the 60th minute of play. Lorenzo Bourgeat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Idacio Ballejos in the 60th minute of the match. Idacio Ballejos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 2-6 when Idacio Ballejos sped through Breizh Punishers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lorenzo Bourgeat. Mayo's Patrick Robins was substituted for Will Porter. Mayo's William Symons was substituted for Evelio Goren. Marcus Deacon guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 93 minutes, Thierry Auroy made it 3-6 with a short kick to the right side. Mayo's Marcus Deacon tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The Mayo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mayo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
