Tadeusz Piglowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Vanyo Budevski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gustavo Guimarães. That made the score 1-1 in the 15 minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Szybcy i Wściekli's goal looked a bit too open when Dário Diniz came free, but Józef Mlynarczyk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustavo Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerzy Piszczor, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Szybcy i Wściekli's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Despite this Józef Mlynarczyk quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Lauro Terra hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Gallegos in the 35th minute of play forced Szybcy i Wściekli's goalkeeper Józef Mlynarczyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lauro Terra's late challenge caught a Club Deportivo Águila's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The coaching staff of Szybcy i Wściekli protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Lauro Terra had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Dário Diniz made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match, Herminio Florinio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Józef Mlynarczyk was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
