A wasted opportunity for Atletico Patoruzu. Aldo Hawk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Alcântara in the 22nd minute of play. In the 25th minute Rene Harman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Result 1-0. Tomé Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Harman, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. A collision led to Atletico Patoruzu getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Rúben Verdun hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Alcântara in the 47th minute of play forced Atletico Patoruzu's goalkeeper Aldo Hawk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Atletico Patoruzu's Teobaldo Gaizkine was substituted for Marcelo-Luis Butcher. The wind increased when Rene Harman made the kick off in the second half. Ronaldo Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ronaldo Alcântara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aldo Hawk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Atletico Patoruzu's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dedé Paiva was slow to take the kick. During this time Ferreira Lopes MZC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Ferreira Lopes MZC's Dedé Paiva to fire away a dangerous shot which Aldo Hawk despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Wiley Boyle in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tomé Montenegro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Aldo Hawk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dário Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, Tomé Montenegro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Atletico Patoruzu's Aldo Hawk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Martins in the 70th minute of play.
