With a little luck, Brooklyn SC's Jospeh McNally got control of the ball when Fabinho dos Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ezequiel Mineiro hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Dráuzio Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brooklyn SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráuzio Barral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Acácio Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George Potra during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Brooklyn SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Potra to maneuver through the defense. If Gerardo Beard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With his leg Jospeh McNally managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when Club Athletico Paulistano's Fabinho dos Santos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 25th minute Jonas Cole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Acácio Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Club Athletico Paulistano's Jospeh McNally threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rafinha Trancoso, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jospeh McNally came out of the goal and Fabinho dos Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th minute, Fabinho dos Santos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jospeh McNally. The goal made the score 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.
Club Athletico Paulistano's attentive Glauco da Rocha managed to snatch the ball when Vinicio Millan made a throw-in in the 51st minute of the game. Jospeh McNally took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabinho dos Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute of the match Club Athletico Paulistano got a corner. Brooklyn SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Agnaldo Mattos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Club Athletico Paulistano's Caetano Pelé was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jospeh McNally in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 56 minutes into the match, Fabinho dos Santos notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Brooklyn SC's Jospeh McNally. Jospeh McNally was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Club Athletico Paulistano booed when Brooklyn SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinicio Millan didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabinho dos Santos in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jospeh McNally saved Brooklyn SC from getting behind. Acácio Lara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerardo Beard in the 64th minute. Fabinho dos Santos struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Jospeh McNally didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Athletico Paulistano. Jospeh McNally was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Club Athletico Paulistano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. 95 minutes into the game, Fabinho dos Santos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-2. Jospeh McNally was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Club Athletico Paulistano's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
