In the 17th minute, Florin Stancu made a precise shot to the right of Elpidio Vitin. Vélez Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After having played for 20 minutes, Billy Nilsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Muget's supporters crossed their fingers, but Billy Nilsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nae Strungă in the 21st minute of play forced Vélez Juniors's goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Muget fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiburcio Quinteros was the one to do the kick off. Florin Stancu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Elpidio Vitin made a huge save. In the 56th minute, Alex Isaia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Muget fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Tiburcio Quinteros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vélez Juniors made a substitution. The corner led Vélez Juniors's Celedonio Eriz to fire away a dangerous shot which Isac Gligor despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Isac Gligor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvio Checa in the 80th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Muget's zone, Cristian Naike stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isac Gligor came out of the goal and Cristian Naike tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 86 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Isac Gligor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 87thth minute of the game Florin Stancu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elpidio Vitin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Isaia, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 92nd minute Benicio Rivas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isac Gligor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Cristian Naike came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Vélez Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Naike couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Muget walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
