Atalay Turkay was slow to take the kick. During this time Capibaribe Stars's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Daşdämir Albändiyev managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Régis de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Sousa in the 12th minute of the match. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmeiras's goalkeeper Régis de Queirós, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daşdämir Albändiyev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Sousa in the 32nd minute of play. Régis de Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Régis de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Sousa in the 38th minute of play. Capibaribe Stars's Thomás Toscano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Capibaribe Stars from getting a goal against them. Daniel Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Michel Sergipano hit a great ball. Régis de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Sousa in the 45th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Sousa to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Luke Clist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás Toscano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Daniel Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Capibaribe Stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Sousa couldn't finish the play. Régis de Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daşdämir Albändiyev in the 57th minute. Daniel Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Régis de Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Capibaribe Stars made a substitution. Jarl Rossebø replaced Daşdämir Albändiyev. 63 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Qarabulud La Forgia came free, but Thomás Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palmeiras's Dudu Capixaba was substituted for Michel Sergipano. In the 97th minute, Daniel Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 99 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Qarabulud La Forgia came free, but Thomás Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Palmeiras supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Capibaribe Stars's performance. The match ended with a win for Capibaribe Stars.
