Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Radul Ranev successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lengua de Lobo's Edgardo Patxi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urs Stapf in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Armando Buinton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Lengua de Lobo booed when Dilgiai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gvidas Vasauskas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, one of Dilgiai:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Dilgiai. When the match had been going on for 21 minutes, Lengua de Lobo's Aldo Felipo got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Radul Ranev. 24 minutes into the match, Dilgiai's goalkeeper Radul Ranev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aldo Felipo. An unexpected shot in the 28th minute by Aldo Felipo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Radul Ranev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patryk Dubilas in the 30th minute of play. Aldo Felipo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Radul Ranev made a huge save. After 33 minutes Dilgiai's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ljubo Roginek who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Lengua de Lobo's Ljubo Roginek to fire away a dangerous shot which Radul Ranev despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Rytis Ablingis came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Dilgiai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rytis Ablingis couldn't finish the play. Radul Ranev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pelayo Silva in the 40th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

There was no doubt that Lengua de Lobo were the better team. Lengua de Lobo's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
