In the 21stth minute of the game Ejvind Haversen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kenya's Maximiliano Eliazar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Teodoro Min threw the ball into play from the sideline. Redbull Sala's Pär Klack quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. A very good chance. Redbull Sala's Carlos Alberto Bezerra got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Cleto Duarte replaced Marco Tardelli. Many of Kenya's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Kenya may have spent more time on the ball, but Redbull Sala were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
