Paulinho Ralf hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the match, Santa Margarita's goal looked a bit too open when Edin Džeko came free, but Pontus Nordström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Margarita's zone, Edin Džeko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pontus Nordström came out of the goal and Edin Džeko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of GeRaÇãO-83 booed when Santa Margarita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicklas Matsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st minute Witomir Pisarczyk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grzegorz Siekierski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enzo Peruxu in the 53rd minute of play forced GeRaÇãO-83's goalkeeper Grzegorz Siekierski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Santa Margarita getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Enzo Peruxu hit a great ball. Andréas Hasselqvist spun around in front of the goal 57 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of GeRaÇãO-83's goal. 60 minutes into the game, Nicklas Matsson threw the ball into play from the sideline. GeRaÇãO-83's Jiang Xiang Sheng quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 63 minutes into the match, GeRaÇãO-83's goalkeeper Grzegorz Siekierski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mauro Icardi. GeRaÇãO-83's Mario Cristofor got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 70 minutes of play, GeRaÇãO-83's Edin Džeko made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pontus Nordström was left in no man's land by his defense there! Santa Margarita's Wendell Davids was substituted for Enzo Peruxu. In the 81st minute Edin Džeko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pontus Nordström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
