The audience was convinced that Blas Beila's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olo Uriarte was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Gladiadores's zone, Jorge Torcida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Urbasa came out of the goal and Jorge Torcida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute, Juango Camposa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Daniel Urbasa came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Caaguazu's Gilesindo Tarapiella. But to his dismay, Gilesindo Tarapiella quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gilesindo Tarapiella kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. If Jorge Torcida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caaguazu's Mauro Bocaran was substituted for Gabriel Labiada. 73 minutes into the match, Caaguazu's goal looked a bit too open when Marciano Pettinelli came free, but Olo Uriarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gladiadores's Daniel Urbasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Gladiadores from getting a goal against them. Miliano Roza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daniel Urbasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Gladiadores's goal looked a bit too open when Miliano Roza came free, but Daniel Urbasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gladiadores's Daniel Urbasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Torcida in the 85th minute of play. Gladiadores made a substitution. Albino Belo replaced Blas Beila. In the 87th minute Caaguazu were awarded a corner. Gary Ayala went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Gary Ayala got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Daniel Urbasa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
