The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Paunero booed when AC United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orvar Fribäck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paunero were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after AC United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jose Rosario took the corner. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
