Thanasis Papadimitriou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erling Lewandowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Thanasis Papadimitriou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erling Lewandowski in the 15th minute of play. Cássio Gonçalves took the corner. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Defensores de Belén's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cássio Gonçalves was slow to take the kick. During this time Go Ahead Eagles's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Juan Ramírez managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Go Ahead Eagles's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
