After 8 played minutes UNITED GWAREK got a freekick which was hit by Iwan Trzemzalski. YR Mechelen's Adolphe De Maerschalckx got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cyprian Lampa took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yanick Verschelde. Yanick Verschelde dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Jozef Van Acker's late challenge caught a UNITED GWAREK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jozef Van Acker helped the player get up and apologised. Jozef Van Acker hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Borys Lewkowicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Van Mechelen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miguel Van Mechelen might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Borys Lewkowicz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miguel Van Mechelen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 34th minute, Andries Mangelschot ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Borys Lewkowicz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 36 minutes into the game, Miguel Van Mechelen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Borys Lewkowicz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 41st minute, Leo Van Mechelen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th match minute, YR Mechelen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joop Leemans to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Miguel Van Mechelen made the kick off in the second half. Andries Mangelschot kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Van Mechelen in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Borys Lewkowicz saved UNITED GWAREK from getting behind. Miguel Van Mechelens short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Borys Lewkowicz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 64 minutes into the match, UNITED GWAREK's Cyprian Lampa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yanick Verschelde narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Cyprian Lampa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in YR Mechelen's zone, Bogumil Dombrowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yanick Verschelde came out of the goal and Bogumil Dombrowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th match minute, UNITED GWAREK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Swoboda to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the game, Cyprian Lampa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Yanick Verschelde was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 89 minutes, Miguel Van Mechelen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. YR Mechelen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Van Mechelen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bogumil Dombrowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yanick Verschelde having to interfere. After 95 minutes of play YR Mechelen's Jozef Van Acker was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, YR Mechelen's Jozef Van Acker got a free kick in the 96th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched YR Mechelen eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
