The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 minutes, Flavius Tulbure mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CSM Catunele and the Chelsea Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 6 played minutes CSM Catunele got a freekick which was hit by Flavius Tulbure. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gez Reading got free with Andrei Arbore in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 12 minutes into the game, Liviu Isvoreanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CSM Catunele's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chelsea Football Club the free kick. The supporters of Chelsea Football Club booed when CSM Catunele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liviu Isvoreanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute John Paul Pitts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrei Arbore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th match minute, CSM Catunele was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radu Ţurcaş to maneuver through the defense. If Garry Foster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Chelsea Football Club getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Spike Sheene hit a great ball. Sidney Straker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicu Furdui, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Radu Ţurcaş hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. 47 minutes in the game Victor Băncilă did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Mugur Bolborici. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John Paul Pitts to strike the kick off in the second half. When Pete Straker came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Chelsea Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pete Straker couldn't finish the play. In the 55th minute, Brad Lomas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Sidney Straker managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when CSM Catunele's Nicu Furdui fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Chelsea Football Club's Pete Straker got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andrei Arbore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Paul Pitts, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chelsea Football Club's goalkeeper Sidney Straker, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sidney Straker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicu Furdui in the 68th minute. Garry Foster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gez Reading fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrei Arbore having to interfere. Garry Foster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Andrei Arbore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Iulian Patrichi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sidney Straker, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garry Foster in the 83rd minute of play forced CSM Catunele's goalkeeper Andrei Arbore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Șerban Oblemenco charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Șerban Oblemenco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gez Reading sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If John Paul Pitts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the game, Radu Ţurcaş was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CSM Catunele's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chelsea Football Club the free kick. Andrei Arbore didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brad Lomas went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 95th minute, one of CSM Catunele:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for CSM Catunele. After 98 minutes, Walter Tetley made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. CSM Catunele's Andrei Arbore tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Chelsea Football Club's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
