The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jerry Sjöberg the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Kumla protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jerry Sjöberg had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kumla fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! Folke Ahlgren came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by CSM Catunele's Nicu Furdui. But to his dismay, Nicu Furdui quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Boris Ugla hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Andrei Arbore made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kaj Fogel in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Stefan Hjeltman dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Andrei Arbore, 1-2. After 39 minutes of play, CSM Catunele's Șerban Oblemenco made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Folke Ahlgren was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kumla's Folke Ahlgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Șerban Oblemenco in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stefan Hjeltman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Kumla's Folke Ahlgren got control of the ball when Nicu Furdui tried to sneak it across the goal line. Svante Rydberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrei Arbore having to interfere. After 55 played minutes CSM Catunele got a freekick which was hit by Radu Ţurcaş. Folke Ahlgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Șerban Oblemenco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Kumla booed when CSM Catunele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Băncilă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrei Arbore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svante Rydberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. If Svante Rydberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kumla's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Nicu Furdui scored to the left of an out of position Folke Ahlgren, making the score, 1-4. Nicu Furdui could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Folke Ahlgren made a huge save. Nicu Furdui's late challenge caught a Kumla's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicu Furdui helped the player get up and apologised. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. CSM Catunele had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
