The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When Costică Gherasim came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the AC Milan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Costică Gherasim couldn't finish the play. Lucian Ionașcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisc Vrabie having to interfere. AC Milan's Gigel Oțeteleșanu got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th match minute, AC Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucian Ionașcu to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Galata FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
