The supporters of Dafiru booed when AC Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costică Gherasim didn't get a good kick on the ball. AC Milan's Nichifor Moțoc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niculae Ivasiuc in the 12th minute of play. Tiberiu Cordescu in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mihai Dobrica, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nichifor Moțoc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugur Gabrea in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, AC Milan's Constantin Graur got a free kick in the 18th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Gigel Oțeteleșanu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mihai Dobrica. That made the score 3-0 in the 47 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 61st match minute, Dafiru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matei Răţescu to maneuver through the defense. Tiberiu Cordescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the game, Marin Chifu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dafiru's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AC Milan the free kick. Dafiru's Mugur Gabrea got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Mugur Gabrea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nichifor Moțoc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niculae Ivasiuc in the 82nd minute of the match. If Mugur Gabrea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Răzvan Bobariu hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niculae Ivasiuc in the 98th minute of play forced AC Milan's goalkeeper Nichifor Moțoc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
