An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Fliz in the 2nd minute of play forced Yala's goalkeeper Valentin Eguntsenti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valentin Eguntsenti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rene Restu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by Yala's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Santiago Sosa was slow to take the kick. During this time Deportivo Balvanera's players had a chance to rest. Santiago Sosa hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 15 played minutes Yala got a freekick which was hit by Cristobal Aurken. The audience was convinced that Rene Restu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valentin Eguntsenti was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. If Luisito Birjaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valentin Eguntsenti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Restu, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Valentin Eguntsenti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rene Restu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute Rene Restu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Eguntsenti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valentin Eguntsenti came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Balvanera's Omar Fliz. But to his dismay, Omar Fliz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 34 minutes into the match, Yala's goal looked a bit too open when Rene Restu came free, but Valentin Eguntsenti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rene Restu in the 36th minute of play forced Yala's goalkeeper Valentin Eguntsenti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute Omar Fliz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Eguntsenti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Yala defense, Rene Restu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valentin Eguntsenti. The Yala fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valentin Eguntsenti should have stopped the shot. After 44 played minutes Deportivo Balvanera got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Costas. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rene Restu to make the kick off. Ramiro Quin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Valentin Eguntsenti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santiago Sosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rene Restu in the 58th minute of play forced Yala's goalkeeper Valentin Eguntsenti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deportivo Balvanera's Bonifacio Estavan was substituted for Ernesto Argoitz. Gustavo Costas hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Valentin Eguntsenti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rene Restu in the 68th minute of the match. Deportivo Balvanera made a substitution. Miguel Betadur hit a great ball. Valentin Eguntsenti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Sosa in the 87th minute of the match. Feliberto Joey kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Deportivo Balvanera fans cheered their team off the field, for while Yala had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
