Willian Loyola made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Deivid Trevisan charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Deivid Trevisan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 16 played minutes Morro Grande E.C got a freekick which was hit by Deivid Trevisan. Diogo Pinho kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Willian Loyola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herminio Richie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristobal Aurken scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Willian Loyola, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Morro Grande E.C getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Erik Pontes hit a great ball. Herminio Richie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Willian Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Willian Loyola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristobal Aurken in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute, Cristobal Aurken left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yala fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The supporters of Yala booed when Morro Grande E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Willian Loyola came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Yala's Cristobal Aurken. But to his dismay, Cristobal Aurken quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 45 minutes into the match, Morro Grande E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Cristobal Aurken came free, but Willian Loyola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luisito Birjaio struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Willian Loyola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yala. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristobal Aurken stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Morro Grande E.C's Willian Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisito Birjaio in the 51st minute of play. In the 54th minute, César Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Betadur got free with Willian Loyola in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 72 minutes, Filiberto Formerio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filiberto Formerio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Morro Grande E.C's Willian Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristobal Aurken in the 75th minute of play. Willian Loyola was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristobal Aurken showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 86 minute of play. After 93 minutes, Cristian Duarte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Morro Grande E.C and the Yala players grew even worse after the yellow card.
