The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vilhelm Palonen came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by TOCO Y ME VOY F.C. -DMZ-'s Juan Manuel Olivera. Emilio Posada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evstati Kiradzhiyski in the 11th minute of the match. FC Gurbanovtsi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Timur Achuev in the 13th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Manuel Olivera in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vilhelm Palonen saved FC Gurbanovtsi from getting behind. Emilio Posada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timur Achuev in the 19th minute of play. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Juan Manuel Olivera sped through FC Gurbanovtsi's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vilhelm Palonen. The audience was convinced that Ognyan Kurudzhiev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emilio Posada was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Vilhelm Palonen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ognyan Kurudzhiev was the one to do the kick off.
