Sidónio Peralta took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Végeir Geirfinnsson. Végeir Geirfinnsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Végeir Geirfinnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidónio Peralta in the 7th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Akkur Flúðum's Freymundur Finnbogason slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of António Correia. That made the score 1-1 after 12 minutes of play. Heiðberg Gylfason kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Akkur Flúðum's goal looked a bit too open when Sidónio Peralta came free, but Végeir Geirfinnsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Akkur Flúðum booed when Vera Cruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidónio Peralta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sidónio Peralta might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Végeir Geirfinnsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sidónio Peralta ran back to his position shaking his head. Sidónio Peralta scored 1-4 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Végeir Geirfinnsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 45th minute, Þorlaugur Kjartansson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 46 played minutes, Vera Cruz's Adolfo Morais shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Végeir Geirfinnsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vera Cruz reached it. After the first half Vera Cruz were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 53 played minutes Sidónio Peralta rounded Akkur Flúðum's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-5. In the 64th minute, Sidónio Peralta reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Végeir Geirfinnsson. The goal made the score 1-6. Akkur Flúðum's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Sidónio Peralta 69 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-7. After a rather tough play, Vera Cruz's Vasco Gaspar got a free kick in the 73rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Þorlaugur Kjartansson in the 77th minute of play forced Vera Cruz's goalkeeper António Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fábio Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Akkur Flúðum's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Sidónio Peralta scored to the left of an out of position Végeir Geirfinnsson, making the score, 1-8. 87 minutes into the match, Vera Cruz's goal looked a bit too open when Þorlaugur Kjartansson came free, but António Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sidónio Peralta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Végeir Geirfinnsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Heiðberg Gylfason kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Sidónio Peralta might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Végeir Geirfinnsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sidónio Peralta ran back to his position shaking his head. Végeir Geirfinnsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio Ribeiro in the 95th minute of the match. The Vera Cruz supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vera Cruz would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
