The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Végeir Geirfinnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mazhar Ismail in the 3rd minute of play. Khalil Besheer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freymundur Finnbogason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Végeir Geirfinnsson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Khalil Besheer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Þorlaugur Kjartansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Bolton Wanderers's Khalil Besheer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dvalinn Steinsson in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Abdel Wahab Fadel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Végeir Geirfinnsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 29th minute, Bolton Wanderers's Mazhar Ismail ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Végeir Geirfinnsson. Végeir Geirfinnsson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Starri Hásteinsson's late challenge caught a Bolton Wanderers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Starri Hásteinsson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd match minute, Akkur Flúðum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Starri Hásteinsson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mazhar Ismail in the 34th minute of play forced Akkur Flúðum's goalkeeper Végeir Geirfinnsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mazhar Ismail received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Végeir Geirfinnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Végeir Geirfinnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdel Wahab Fadel in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dvalinn Steinsson to strike the kick off in the second half. When Dvalinn Steinsson came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Akkur Flúðum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dvalinn Steinsson couldn't finish the play. If Freymundur Finnbogason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Bolton Wanderers's goal looked a bit too open when Þorlaugur Kjartansson came free, but Khalil Besheer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Mazhar Ismail sped through Akkur Flúðum's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Végeir Geirfinnsson. In the 66th minute, Illugi Ingólfsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Akkur Flúðum's Þorlaugur Kjartansson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-1. After 70 played minutes Akkur Flúðum got a freekick which was hit by Jörgen Eðvarsson. 71 minutes into the match, Bolton Wanderers's Farouk Gameel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Végeir Geirfinnsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Bolton Wanderers getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Barakat Fathy hit a great ball. Farouk Gameel kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Þorlaugur Kjartansson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Khalil Besheer. Bolton Wanderers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Þorlaugur Kjartansson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. 82 minutes into the game, Mazhar Ismail cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Végeir Geirfinnsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Illugi Ingólfsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Akkur Flúðum's supporters rose to their feet, but Illugi Ingólfsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Khalil Besheer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Végeir Geirfinnsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mazhar Ismail in the 95th minute of the match. Bolton Wanderers's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
