Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Hull City's Jan Fabricius started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Jan Fabricius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jan Fabricius came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Hull City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Fabricius couldn't finish the play. Casimiro Peruxu came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Hull City's Yannick Fürstenberg. But to his dismay, Yannick Fürstenberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Yannick Fürstenberg succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 18th playminute. After having played for 20 minutes, Jan Fabricius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hull City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Fabricius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Hull City's Jan Fabricius in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jorge Newbery's goalie prevented a goal. In the 24th minute Jan Fabricius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casimiro Peruxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christof Heisenberg's late challenge caught a Jorge Newbery's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christof Heisenberg helped the player get up and apologised. Jan Fabricius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casimiro Peruxu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcial Menendo in the 32nd minute of play forced Hull City's goalkeeper William Feuerstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teo Dino kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. If Yannick Fürstenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jan Fabricius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casimiro Peruxu having to interfere. William Feuerstein came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Jorge Newbery's Danilo Cibran. But to his dismay, Danilo Cibran quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Jan Fabricius struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Casimiro Peruxu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hull City. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcial Menendo was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Hull City's goal looked a bit too open when Marcial Menendo came free, but William Feuerstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. William Feuerstein was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Marcial Menendo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcial Menendo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Marcial Menendo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Feuerstein having to interfere. After having played for 63 minutes, Jan Fabricius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Casimiro Peruxu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yannick Fürstenberg in the 66th minute of play. Bob Hößler charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bob Hößler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 71 minutes, Karlheinz König managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hull City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karlheinz König was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, Enrique Firmo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jorge Newbery's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hull City the free kick. After 72 played minutes Hull City got a freekick which was hit by Bob Hößler. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Fabricius in the 75th minute of play forced Jorge Newbery's goalkeeper Casimiro Peruxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enrique Firmo might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over William Feuerstein. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enrique Firmo ran back to his position shaking his head. Casimiro Peruxu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Fabricius in the 82nd minute of play. If Yannick Fürstenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcial Menendo hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. If Jan Fabricius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Danilo Cibran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Newbery succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Hull City had controlled the match.
