Jan Fabricius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Figlewski hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Witomir Ochylski didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 7th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the 11th minute, Hull City's Jan Fabricius dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. When Andre Beaumont fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hull City's protests and gave Andre Beaumont a yellow card for diving instead. Andre Beaumont hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. When Roman Rydzyk came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Gniewoszów SA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roman Rydzyk couldn't finish the play. If Jan Fabricius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Witomir Ochylski made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Christof Heisenberg sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Gniewoszów SA defense, Karlheinz König kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Witomir Ochylski. The Gniewoszów SA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Witomir Ochylski should have stopped the shot. Yannick Fürstenberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Witomir Ochylski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gniewoszów SA's Witomir Ochylski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Fabricius in the 30th minute of play. If Lothar Bartz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 36 minutes, Karlheinz König managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hull City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karlheinz König was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Witomir Ochylski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan Fabricius's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.
The wind increased when Jan Fabricius made the kick off in the second half. Roman Rydzyk's late challenge caught a Hull City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roman Rydzyk helped the player get up and apologised. In the 50th minute, Roman Rydzyk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karlheinz König fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Witomir Ochylski having to interfere. William Feuerstein was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Teofil Dobilas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 59 minute of play. In the 62nd minute Jan Fabricius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Witomir Ochylski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Roman Rydzyk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Darius Kemmer's late challenge caught a Gniewoszów SA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Darius Kemmer helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Hull City's Darius Kemmer got a free kick in the 82nd minute. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 4-2 when Jan Fabricius sped through Gniewoszów SA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Witomir Ochylski. Edward Banaszak hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zbyszek Pozorski in the 91st minute of play forced Hull City's goalkeeper William Feuerstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan Fabricius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Hull City's zone, Roman Rydzyk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Feuerstein came out of the goal and Roman Rydzyk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that Hull City were the better team. Hull City's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
