Zaky Aino made in the 44th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Farouk Gameel immediately put the ball in play. Vicente Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute Mazhar Ismail shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mazhar Ismail stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vasco Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sidónio Peralta's late challenge caught a Bolton Wanderers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. In the 70th minute of the match Bolton Wanderers got a corner. Vera Cruz's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. After taking down the ball on Bolton Wanderers's corner Farouk Gameel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and António Correia quite easily take care of the ball. Bolton Wanderers's Ezz Deyaa got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. António Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Farouk Gameel, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Khalil Besheer was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Sidónio Peralta. There was no doubt that Bolton Wanderers were the better team. Bolton Wanderers's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
