The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Gniewoszów SA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Banaszak to maneuver through the defense. Witomir Ochylski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Þorlaugur Kjartansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After having played for 37 minutes, Dvalinn Steinsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Akkur Flúðum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dvalinn Steinsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Witomir Ochylski was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dvalinn Steinsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Witomir Ochylski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 71 minutes, Zbyszek Pozorski mouthed his way into the referee's book. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Banaszak couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Roman Rydzyk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Végeir Geirfinnsson was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Herleifur Baugsson during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Herleifur Baugsson hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Akkur Flúðum's goalkeeper Végeir Geirfinnsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
