The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Wheatmore High School defense, Marcial Menendo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Garry Valentine. The Wheatmore High School fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Garry Valentine should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Lind in the 22nd minute of play forced Jorge Newbery's goalkeeper Casimiro Peruxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Casimiro Peruxu made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Wendell Walton sent off a good shot on target. Garry Valentine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Cibran, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Marcial Menendo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Wheatmore High School's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcial Menendo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 40 minutes into the match, Wheatmore High School's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Firmo came free, but Garry Valentine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Garry Valentine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcial Menendo, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The Wheatmore High School players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jorge Newbery were winning 1-3.

Danilo Cibran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Garry Valentine made a huge save. Casimiro Peruxu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wendell Walton in the 57th minute of play. Garry Valentine was a little too slow when Enrique Firmo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-5. Ulises Tavio kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Marcial Menendo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Garry Valentine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wendell Walton scored 2-5 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Casimiro Peruxu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th play minute Danilo Cibran came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Garry Valentine. 2-6. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Garry Valentine successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Garry Valentine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcial Menendo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the match, Jorge Newbery's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Lind came free, but Casimiro Peruxu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Lind in the 91st minute of play forced Jorge Newbery's goalkeeper Casimiro Peruxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garry Valentine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcial Menendo in the 93rd minute of the match. Sergio Sharpe hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute of the match Guaberto Iago shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Garry Valentine showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Jorge Newbery eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
