Bolton Wanderers's Khalil Besheer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teofil Dobilas in the 42nd minute of play. When Edward Banaszak came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Gniewoszów SA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Banaszak couldn't finish the play.

In the 80th match minute, Gniewoszów SA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zbyszek Pozorski to maneuver through the defense. Witomir Ochylski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mazhar Ismail, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mazhar Ismail had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Witomir Ochylski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mazhar Ismail in the 93rd minute of play. After 93 played minutes Gniewoszów SA got a freekick which was hit by Teofil Dobilas. In the 96thth minute of the game Mazhar Ismail who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gniewoszów SA's Witomir Ochylski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bolton Wanderers's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
