Elton Brewster hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. 5 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Dario Betzanos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Matthew Benjamin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Uruguay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Primitivo Grau in the 6th minute. Zemario Quer made a great header on Uruguay's corner, it was just that USA's Matthew Benjamin managed to reach the ball for a save. Lincoln Hand recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Merlin Castro in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hilario Pesquera saved Uruguay from getting behind. 19 minutes into the game, Elton Brewster threw the ball into play from the sideline. Uruguay's Jaume Vasquez quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lincoln Hand in the 24th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Hilario Pesquera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dario Betzanos took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Matthew Benjamin. Matthew Benjamin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 30 minutes into the match, USA's goalkeeper Matthew Benjamin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dario Betzanos. Hilario Pesquera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mitchell Godwin in the 41st minute of play. Galoer Barajo kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Mitchell Godwin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Hilario Pesquera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Merlin Castro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Lincoln Hand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hilario Pesquera came out of the goal and Lincoln Hand tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matthew Benjamin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Betzanos in the 53rd minute of play. USA made a substitution. Wiley Enriquez replaced Mitchell Godwin. USA's Arturo Brownell was substituted for Lincoln Hand. Dario Betzanos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matthew Benjamin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Hilario Pesquera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arturo Brownell. 71 minutes into the match, Dario Betzanos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matthew Benjamin. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dario Betzanos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Uruguay made a substitution. Cordario Vivero replaced Primitivo Grau. Uruguay's Estevam Moroño was substituted for Dario Betzanos. 77 minutes in the game Elton Brewster did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Wiley Enriquez. Matthew Benjamin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Estevam Moroño, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Hilario Pesquera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Sellers in the 84th minute of play. Arturo Brownell came free with the goalkeeper in the 87th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hilario Pesquera could save by the left post. In the 91st minute Cordario Vivero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthew Benjamin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Uruguay fans cheered their team off the field, for while USA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
