After a rather tough play, POZANTI SPOR's Ege Onursoy got a free kick in the 7th minute. Jan-Ove Felin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dursun Yılğıralp in the 13th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Mattias Claudinger recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jan-Ove Felin. Mattias Claudinger showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Xove Tijerina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Alvarez in the 31st minute of play. Raul Alvarez scored 1-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Xove Tijerina, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Xove Tijerina didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eduard Kovalchuk went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 41st match minute, POZANTI SPOR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurent Blanc to maneuver through the defense. Xove Tijerina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kris Noander, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 71st minute Kris Noander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xove Tijerina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kris Noander in the 74th minute of play forced POZANTI SPOR's goalkeeper Xove Tijerina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Xove Tijerina successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
