In the 4th minute Ursino Fuente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jardel Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Grêmio FBPA's Jardel Sanches got control of the ball when Chico de Sousa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Filiph Biörling might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hieronim Gdowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Filiph Biörling ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 35th minute of play forced Guadalupe FC - CIMZ's goalkeeper Hieronim Gdowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hieronim Gdowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pipis Karapatakis in the 39th minute of the match. Pipis Karapatakis took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hieronim Gdowski. Hieronim Gdowski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half Grêmio FBPA were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José de Queirós to strike the kick off in the second half. Hieronim Gdowski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 59th minute. Hieronim Gdowski was left in no man's land by his defense there! Grêmio FBPA's Ted Hoogenkamp was substituted for Filiph Biörling. After 77 minutes Guadalupe FC - CIMZ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Darío Pereyra who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Guadalupe FC - CIMZ's goalie and right to Ted Hoogenkamp. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Guadalupe FC - CIMZ's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Jardel Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José de Queirós in the 79th minute of play. Pipis Karapatakis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Hieronim Gdowski made a huge save. In the 92nd minute, José de Queirós left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guadalupe FC - CIMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. Chico de Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Sanches having to interfere. The Grêmio FBPA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Grêmio FBPA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
