The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tol Adas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tol Adas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ken Albrigtsen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Atletico Benevento's Ken Albrigtsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tol Adas in the 11th minute of play. Hazım Taşboğa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Ken Albrigtsen made a huge save. Ken Albrigtsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tol Adas in the 18th minute of the match. Harald Lossmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessio Cancemi, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 25 minutes into the game, Alessio Cancemi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Harald Lossmann was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 28th minute, Alessio Cancemi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Harald Lossmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 32 minutes into the match, Atletico Benevento's goal looked a bit too open when Tol Adas came free, but Ken Albrigtsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harald Lossmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Albertosi in the 33rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tol Adas got free with Ken Albrigtsen in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th minute Alessio Cancemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harald Lossmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th match minute, FC Fura Balizas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeferino Corte-Real to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ken Albrigtsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tol Adas in the 53rd minute of play. In the 57th match minute, FC Fura Balizas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hilário Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. Harald Lossmann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexander Albertosi in the 58th minute. Jordão Vasques kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Atletico Benevento made a substitution. Antonello Di Iorio replaced Anthony De Laurentiis. After 62 played minutes, Atletico Benevento's Filippo Ciccone shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Harald Lossmann came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atletico Benevento reached it. In the 72nd minute, Tol Adas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Fura Balizas's Joaquim Ribeiro was substituted for Tol Adas. Joaquim Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Fura Balizas made a substitution. Alberto Vides replaced Jordão Vasques. FC Fura Balizas's Lourenço Nascimento was substituted for Homero Saraiva. The audience thought a goal was coming when Comunardo Pocobello got free with Harald Lossmann in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, FC Fura Balizas's Harald Lossmann got control of the ball when Comunardo Pocobello tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Attilio Di Battista during the 92nd minute. With new strength the players walked out on the field for the first half of overtime. Joaquim Ribeiro in FC Fura Balizas was the one to initiate the kick off. After a rather tough play, FC Fura Balizas's Altino Vidal got a free kick in the 102nd minute. Harald Lossmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexander Albertosi, who was totally free with the ball in the 106th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lourenço Nascimento during the 107th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 107th minute, Lourenço Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The players still looked rather fresh even though it was time for second half of the overtime. Alessio Cancemi did a quick kick off. 122 minutes into the game, Alessio Cancemi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Harald Lossmann. Alessio Cancemi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Atletico Benevento's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
