The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rıza Vuralhan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 12th minute of the match Bosse Tuborg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Basso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's goalkeeper Rıza Vuralhan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abdulkerim Türköne. Ipswich Traktor Boys's Marcos Basso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uno Mattsson in the 18th minute of play. Marcos Basso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Bambas, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. With a little luck, Strömsbro IF's Rıza Vuralhan got control of the ball when Abdulkerim Türköne tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abdulkerim Türköne got free with Rıza Vuralhan in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcos Basso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uno Mattsson in the 30th minute of the match. Abdulkerim Türköne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Rıza Vuralhan made a huge save. The shot was stopped by Marcos Basso but with some difficulty. 63 minutes into the game, Abdulkerim Türköne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ipswich Traktor Boys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Strömsbro IF the free kick. A collision led to Ipswich Traktor Boys getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Abdulkerim Türköne hit a great ball. In the 65th minute Strömsbro IF were awarded a corner. Mao Jun Yun went to the cornerflag to take it. Abdulkerim Türköne was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Abdulkerim Türköne kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Herbert Holmgren charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Herbert Holmgren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 72nd match minute, Ipswich Traktor Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert Holmgren to maneuver through the defense. The Strömsbro IF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Strömsbro IF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
