The supporters of Ipswich Traktor Boys booed when Skövde AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Petersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Skövde AIK from getting a goal against them. After 9 minutes, Abdulkerim Türköne made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hans Petersson hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Melker Hjortsberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Basso having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Abdulkerim Türköne came free, but Olov Wahlnäs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olov Wahlnäs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdulkerim Türköne in the 18th minute of play. Olov Wahlnäs didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abdulkerim Türköne went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. A hard shot 26 in the game by Abdulkerim Türköne from a close distance when the talented Olov Wahlnäs managed to make a qualified save. Skövde AIK's players were relieved. Herbert Holmgren took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olov Wahlnäs. Olov Wahlnäs dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After having played for 32 minutes, Abdulkerim Türköne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ipswich Traktor Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdulkerim Türköne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hans Petersson made in the 34th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Chen Ao Fan immediately put the ball in play. Abdulkerim Türköne scored 4-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Olov Wahlnäs, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Olov Wahlnäs came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Ipswich Traktor Boys's Abdulkerim Türköne. But to his dismay, Abdulkerim Türköne quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. In the 42nd minute Melker Hjortsberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Basso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abdulkerim Türköne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olov Wahlnäs having to make a save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abdulkerim Türköne stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Abdulkerim Türköne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Abdulkerim Türköne scored 6-0 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Olov Wahlnäs, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Olov Wahlnäs made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Melker Hjortsberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Basso having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Melker Hjortsberg got free with Marcos Basso in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Melker Hjortsberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skövde AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Melker Hjortsberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Basso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 95 minutes into the game, Melker Hjortsberg lined in a short shot 8-1 behind a frustrated Marcos Basso.
