In the 19th minute, Jerry Jonasson made a precise shot to the right of Olov Wahlnäs. Skövde AIK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Jerry Jonasson took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olov Wahlnäs. Olov Wahlnäs dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Saul Drew charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saul Drew the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, DIF LEEDS BK's Saul Drew got a free kick in the 24th minute. Kevin Keegan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Brazilio Butt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 27th minute of the match Skövde AIK got a corner. DIF LEEDS BK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chen Ao Fan ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Skövde AIK's Hjalmar Hägert to fire away a dangerous shot which Brazilio Butt despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When DIF LEEDS BK's Ulf Nordlander in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Eduardo Selmo came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the DIF LEEDS BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Selmo couldn't finish the play. In the 45th minute Henric Persson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olov Wahlnäs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, DIF LEEDS BK's Jerry Jonasson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olov Wahlnäs made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Kevin Keegan made the kick off in the second half. Chen Ao Fan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brazilio Butt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Brazilio Butt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Hamrin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute, Chen Ao Fan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs got control of the ball when Jerry Jonasson tried to sneak it across the goal line. DIF LEEDS BK's Pál Kormos was substituted for Henric Persson. Skövde AIK's Jerry Williams was substituted for Chen Ao Fan. After 73 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Hjalmar Hägert. Kevin Keegan's late challenge caught a DIF LEEDS BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
