After 3 played minutes Ipswich Traktor Boys got a freekick which was hit by David Silva. Marcos Basso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mats Ljusberg in the 7th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Ipswich Traktor Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Göran Cane came free, but Marcos Basso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Linus Ahlquist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abdulkerim Türköne went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Alvar Vibjörnsson lost his temper 22 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The excitement rose when Ipswich Traktor Boys's Herbert Holmgren after 25 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Svartvallstjärnens IF's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 2-0. In the 35th minute of the match Ipswich Traktor Boys got a corner. Svartvallstjärnens IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Herbert Holmgren ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ipswich Traktor Boys's Marcos Basso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Göran Cane in the 40th minute of play. Linus Ahlquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdulkerim Türköne in the 46th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Göran Cane to strike the kick off in the second half. Karl-Åke Vestlund hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Mats Ljusberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Basso having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göran Cane in the 62nd minute of play forced Ipswich Traktor Boys's goalkeeper Marcos Basso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ipswich Traktor Boys's Pawel Gibowski got a free kick in the 65th minute. Ipswich Traktor Boys's Torgny Söderström was substituted for Slawomir Cisek. Ipswich Traktor Boys's Rasmus Bark was substituted for Pawel Gibowski. Pawel Gibowski kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Svartvallstjärnens IF's goal looked a bit too open when Herbert Holmgren came free, but Linus Ahlquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute Göran Cane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Basso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, Svartvallstjärnens IF's Göran Cane nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Basso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Björn Andberg kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Linus Ahlquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torgny Söderström, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After 77 minutes Svartvallstjärnens IF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Herbert Holmgren who took care of the corner kick. Göran Cane blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Basso having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mats Ljusberg in the 88th minute of play forced Ipswich Traktor Boys's goalkeeper Marcos Basso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Göran Cane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Svartvallstjärnens IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Göran Cane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Basso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcos Basso came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Svartvallstjärnens IF's Göran Cane. But to his dismay, Göran Cane quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
