Felix Hoogenkamp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Cebrián Abajas made a huge save. Maersk Kampala's Dennis Koopmans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ildefonso Bargas in the 6th minute of play. Angel Mora charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Angel Mora the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Cartagena Red Wolves's Angel Mora got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 8th minute Joep Werner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cebrián Abajas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rogier Rodenboog lost his temper 9 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Dennis Koopmans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ildefonso Bargas went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Hendrik Scholten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Cebrián Abajas made a huge save. Ildefonso Bargas took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dennis Koopmans. Dennis Koopmans dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Dennis Koopmans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ildefonso Bargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Hoogenkamp in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cebrián Abajas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A throw-in in the 26th minute of the game was made by Teo Ricksen with Felix Hoogenkamp as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Fulgencio Orozco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Koopmans having to interfere. Firman Palanques scored 0-4 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dennis Koopmans, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Cartagena Red Wolves were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Firman Palanques was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Maersk Kampala got a freekick which was hit by Cees Schuurman. 57 minutes into the match, Cartagena Red Wolves's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Hoogenkamp came free, but Cebrián Abajas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dennis Koopmans made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Firman Palanques sent off a good shot on target. In the 60th minute Firman Palanques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennis Koopmans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Maersk Kampala's Marco Dam got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Ildefonso Bargas struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Dennis Koopmans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cartagena Red Wolves. After a defensive mix-up in Maersk Kampala's zone, Angel Mora stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dennis Koopmans came out of the goal and Angel Mora tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Maersk Kampala's Dennis Koopmans got control of the ball when Firman Palanques tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 72nd minute of the match, Firman Palanques got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dennis Koopmans was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cebrián Abajas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felix Hoogenkamp went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. 77 minutes into the match, Cartagena Red Wolves's goal looked a bit too open when Johan Scheepstra came free, but Cebrián Abajas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Dam hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Cebrián Abajas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Hoogenkamp in the 83rd minute of the match. Firman Palanques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute, Hendrik Scholten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felix Hoogenkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 94 minutes, Hendrik Scholten mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maersk Kampala and the Cartagena Red Wolves players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hendrik Scholten hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Maersk Kampala's Marco Dam got a free kick in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cartagena Red Wolves had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
