An unexpectedly hard shot by Will Theilacker in the 14th minute of play forced Maersk Kampala's goalkeeper Dennis Koopmans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tom Epperson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Hoogenkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Will Theilacker struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Dennis Koopmans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Los Angeles Premier FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Hoogenkamp was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Maersk Kampala's Rogier Rodenboog got a free kick in the 24th minute. Tom Epperson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Hoogenkamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 28 played minutes Los Angeles Premier FC got a freekick which was hit by Domenico Keane. Joep Werner kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Felix Hoogenkamp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tom Epperson. Joep Werner took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tom Epperson. Tom Epperson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felix Hoogenkamp stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Los Angeles Premier FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joep Werner came free, but Tom Epperson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
